Dateline 1943. As the nation’s forces square off against the foes of democracy on the battlefields abroad it’s citizens turn their sights to the hard wood floors at home. They seek excitement on their courts and safety in their streets. But much to their dismay there is no tranquility to be found in either. Ravaged by crime in their cities and frustrated by poor performance in their gym floors, they cry out for a savior. From sea to shining sea, their emotions scream for a champion to rise. A champion capable of revitalizing their beloved pick-up game. A champion capable of cleansing the ominous streets. A champion capable of restoring their fleeting sense of patriotism.

Out of the shadows of their anguish emerges a new and mysterious masked hero. From the harbor side courts on the eastern seaboard to the paved floors in the western lowlands, reports flood in of a young man taking basketball games by storm. His handle is unparalleled and his jumper is undeniable. Rumors of his activity begin to transcend court boundaries as news desks all over become overrun with accounts and stories of the masked man's heroic deeds in the face of criminal danger. Saving lives, stopping lawbreakers, torching the defense... his words are few but his actions send ripples through all facets of the underworld.

The masses clamor to know and understand the dark yet beloved figure. Who is he? Where did he come from? How does he foil injustice with only his rock? How did he become so pure from behind the arc? A wondrous champion is rising and he is known only as The Mad Bomber.
